Indianapolis, USA Kaylee Bryson will return to Florida to race a winged sprint car on dirt in East Bay Raceway Park’s 2023 Winternationals on February 15-18 prior to her Trans Am debut the following week. Veteran racers Aaron Pierce and Dale Howard, along with Chris Santucci from RE Enterprises and LSI Racing have formed a new alliance to take Bryson winged sprint car racing at multiple dirt venues during the 2023 season. Bryson will pilot the #47K Mach 1 chassis owned by Dale Howard Racing. Santucci will serve as Crew Chief with support personnel from Dale Howard Racing and Sam Pierce Racing. The car will be liveried by Pierce’s AP Driver Development along with LSI Racing and SamPierceChevrolet.com.
Kaylee has spent considerable time in Florida this winter, testing SPR’s Trans Am cars at Sebring International Raceway in preparation for her Trans Am debut during the 2023 season opener at Sebring on February 23-26. Bryson ran the Sandi DeCaire Classic at Citrus County (FL) Speedway in an SPR pavement winged sprint car in November charging to a fifth-place finish from her 11thstarting position in her winged sprint car debut, scoring her second top five finish for SPR in 2022. The other was a thrilling fifth-place finish at the Bettenhausen 100 on the Springfield (IL) Mile after qualifying on the front row and commanding a dominating lead for 72 laps before a suffering broken rocker arm.
Bryson returned to her roots over the holiday season, racing the #11 Sawyer house cars at the Tulsa shootout in December and the #71 Yahoo Midget Car at the Chili Bowl Nationals in January where she again raced her way into the A Main for a historic second year in a row.
Bryson finished seventh in USAC National Midget Car series points with fifteen top 10 and five top 5 feature race finishes in her final full-time season driving for Yahoo! and Keith Kunz Motorsports during the 2022 season.
Kaylee will train her primary focus on the USAC Silver Crown Series national championship and select Trans Am events in 2023 for AP Driver Development with Sam Pierce Racing. Race fans can expect to see Bryson compete in various other racing divisions with SPR and affiliated race teams as her 2023 schedule allows.
