Sam Pierce Racing (SPR) has fielded event and championship winning race cars over four decades in multiple national racing divisions. SPR currently maintains a fleet of more than twenty race cars, operates two professional racing teams, a Driver Development division and a Team Services division.
The SPR Open Wheel Team campaigns a fleet of USAC Silver Crown Cars, National Sprint Cars and National Midget Cars. The team will compete for the 2023 USAC Silver Crown Championship with current USAC Midget Car standout Kaylee Bryson and recently won the prestigious National Sprint Car event at Indianapolis Raceway Park in June of 2022 with veteran driver Tanner Swanson.
The SPR Stock Car Team fields multiple Chevy Camaros in the highly competitive Trans Am TA2 Series – the premier platform for aspiring NASCAR drivers to develop valuable road racing skills at America’s most iconic road courses.
Through its affiliation with LSI Racing SPR drivers also race Chevrolet Corvettes in the Trans Am SGT Series. The potent LSI / SPR combined effort is lead by legendary Crew Chief Chris Santucci. The team won at Watkins Glen International in 2019 and finished second in 2022 with company principal and primary driver Aaron Pierce.
Pierce is a multiple USAC Silver Crown Series winner. He was 2003 Rookie of the Year and holds the all-time Series speed record of 174mph set at Kansas International Speedway in 2006. “AP” is one of only 2 drivers to win a USAC Silver Crown race at the fabled Darlington Raceway - the other is A.J. Foyt.
Aaron won 12 races and two championship titles with the Auto Value Super Sprint Car Series. He won the first Sprint Car race that he ever entered at Anderson (IN) Speedway where he now has six Glen Neibel Classic wins, a USAC National Sprint Car win and multiple Little 500 podium finishes and pole positions over 19 years – including the one and four lap track records from 2011 to 2022.
AP has three wins and multiple podiums in the CRA Late Model Series and was Rookie of the Year in 2008. He won the 2002 NAMARS Midget Car Triple Crown Championship and Rookie of the Year in 2000.
Aaron was an Advanced Road Racing Instructor at the Bob Bonduraunt School from 2004-09 and recently launched the AP Driver Development program. This SPR division was formed primarily to aid aspiring race car drivers in their transition to professional motorsports through driver mentoring and coaching in private testing and competitive racing environments. All programs leverage Sam Pierce Racing’s extensive Trans Am and USAC race car inventory. Corporate, group and individual ride-and-drive programs are also available utilizing the company’s Trans Am SGT Corvette two-seat race car.
The company’s experienced staff is adept at the art of race craft on any surface or track configuration in virtually any type of race car. Additional motorsport industry related skillsets including public speaking, media appearances, sponsor relations as well as race car engineering and mechanicals, setup and fabrication can also be honed.
